Edmodo

Login to Edmodo.com an online social learning platform designed for teachers and students that already has more than 34 million registered members worldwide, the site has gained so much success thanks to its many advanced features that allow classrooms to safely connect online in order take advantage of all the powerful learning tools that the site offers. The site also provides online collaboration tools that allow kids and teachers to work on their assignments as they communicate with each other in real time. What the site basically does is help students learn in a more efficient, fun, and interactive way, and one of the reasons of why it has grown so quickly is because the service can actually be incorporated successfully in classrooms through a variety of applications and tools which allow users to post homeworks, create polls with multiple questions and answers, upload videos, images, audio files and more.

If you sign up and then login to your new account, you’ll instantly notice that the site looks a lot like Facebook.com, that’s why a lot of people including me like to call it “The Facebook of Online Learning”. In fact, it’s nearly identical (design-wise), not to mention that its functionality is also very similar, especially when it comes down to the social aspect of the site, because you can add friends, join groups and communities, create posts, chat with other members, etc. But there’s one big difference though, and that is that as a student/teacher you can easily access all your subjects and online learning or teaching materials on the left side of your profile page.

Even though the site was designed to help students learn, it’s also all about the teachers and the parents who keep their kids in check. Educators are actually the ones in charge of helping the kids get a better education, they have to use all the tools and resources that are available at Edmodo.com in order to engage their students effectively, you know to get them interested and excited about the entire learning process that is taking place, it’s also their job to help students connect with the best resources and tools on the site, and they can easily keep track of their students progress through tests, quizzes, and other interactive features that allow educators to assess their students’ progress.
