Orkut a social networking service which is owned and operated at the same time by Google INC, you know the world’s biggest tech giant that we all love. The site was created so that people could easily login in order to find their old friends, and also to allow users to build new relationships through the internet as well. Orkut.com is not as popular as Facebook or Twitter in the United States, Canada, UK, etc. In fact, Google has already replaced it with Google Plus as their main social networking service, but it is without any doubt one of the most visited websites in Brazil, India and several other countries around the world.

Before beginning this tutorial in which you will learn how to sign in to your Orkut.com account, I first want to share with you my thoughts and experiences on the site. I’ve been a long time user, so I’ve seen a lot of changes take place, changes that are actually worth mentioning, because they’ve made the whole experience better, and the entire site has been greatly improved. When I first started using this social networking service I wasn’t really impressed to tell you the truth, I felt it lacked features, and that it wasn’t nearly as good as Googe+, Facebook, or even VK. Now the new Orkut.com has a cleaner, more modern looking interface, it’s also easier and quicker to navigate, and the layout is just terrific, I really like the design. Another thing that I like is that you can now integrate your Google+ account with your Orkut account without problems, doing this will allow your friends to find and follow you on Google Plus too, so your posts will reach more people.
These features are just the tip of the iceberg, after logging in to your account you’ll be able to easily navigate to other Google properties such as Gmail and Google Maps, because there’s a smaller header filled with quick links at the top of every page. The site has also improved its photo uploading and photo sharing functionality, uploading photos, creating albums, and sharing your favorite images online takes a lot less time now thanks to improved uploading speed, and a more advanced multiple photo uploader. There’s one thing that you have to know about Orkut, and that is that it is flexible, you can customize your profile and homepage as much as you want, there are a lot of different colors and themes to choose from, the possibilities are infinite, so go out there and get creative. The new Orkut has gained a lot of attention recently thanks to its new video chat feature, which was a highly requested feature in the past, plus you can now make phone calls, start group chats, enjoy the classic chat feature as well when you’re talking to your friends, make quick posts using the new scrap feature, and your friends’ updates are now displayed on your profile’s homepage.

1. Go to the site’s sign in page located at the following url: http://www.orkut.com/.
2. Enter your email address in the first field of the access form located in the center of your screen.
3. Enter your Orkut login password in the second field.
4. Click the blue button at the bottom of the page that says “Sign In” and that’s it, you are in!

To start using this service you will first have to create a free account, if you don’t have one yet click here to register now. Simply fill out the registration for located on the right side of your screen, enter your name, username, create a password, enter your birth date, specify your gender, type your mobile number and current email address if you have any, prove that you’re not a robot by typing the text in the image at the bottom, check the box to agree to the terms of service and privacy policy of the site, click “Next Steps”, and then follow the provided instructions to get started right away.
